With an estimated 60,000 people in attendance at this year's Dia De Los Muertos Festival in Oceanside on October 29th Enrique made a huge splash as the solo featured artist in the downtown Phantom Gallery. Muerto in the Telescope 11.07.05
The Telescope, a weekly news publication at Palomar College, featured Muerto Skateboards this week in the "In Focus" section. Thanks to Josh Weinreich for writing the article and to Peter Katz for the photography. Very special thanks to Taylor Williams for the stunt work!!! Click here to read the full story "Punk Rock Ambition". Just a minor correction for the readers... Although both Enrique Lazaro and Wayne Acciacca lived in Tucson as young children, they did not meet up until a woodshop class in Peoria, AZ where they were two of only about 5 skaters in the town of Peoria (not Tucson) in 1985. By 1986 there were hundreds of skaters in the Glendale/Peoria area and they regularly skated with skateboard maniacs such as Jaime Flores, Bret Austin, Aaron Lowrey, Steve Ashley, Scott Smith, Richard Juarez, Robert Smith, Robert Wells, Ron Zabowa, Dave and Jeff Whitlock, Rich Moon, Jeremy Creed and many more whose names I will have to misspell later. -WA

Muerto Skateboards Debut 10.08.05
On Saturday Oct 8th Muerto Skateboards made it's debut at the gigantic Denver Skate Park for the first annual Babo Bowl skate contest to support the Robert A. Bravo memorial scholarship fund.  Over a thousand people were on hand to see the raging am contest and to see the one and only Paul Rodriguez Jr. rip the slick trannies of the Denver Park.  Those who visited the Muerto booth were treated to an exhibit of original artwork by Enrique Lazaro and could sign up to win a free Muerto deck.  The Muerto booth was perfectly positioned between the taco stand and the radio station's booth.  Special thanks to Mega 95.7, the Latina Chamber of Denver, P-Rod, Brittney Boeser, Starr Stamp, Rachael Laine, and the rest of the crew who helped Muerto have a great booth.  SEE PHOTOS BELOW
